The National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) Foundation has announced the results of its 12th annual "Best Communities for Music Education" survey, which acknowledges schools and districts across the country for their commitment and support of music education in schools. The Baldwinsville Central School District (BCSD) has been selected as a 2011 Best Communities for Music Education designee. This is the second consecutive year that the district has received this designation.
BCSD achieved this designation based on the district's responses on the Best Community for Music Education survey. The survey measured a variety of factors including budgetary commitment to music, opportunities to learn music, the presence of highly qualified, certified music teachers, adherence to state and national standards, types of musical experiences offered and opportunities for performance and competition, among others. To make the "Best Communities," a community is committed to access and high standards for music education in all those areas.
"This designation was made possible due to the support and commitment of our talented and dedicated teaching staff, administrators, the Board of Education, parents and the Baldwinsville Central School District community as a whole," said Superintendent Jeanne Dangle. "We are honored to receive this designation for a second consecutive year."
BCSD's music teachers are: Jennifer Bearup, Megan Brody, Jennifer Cambareri, Aliza Cincotta, Donna Cole, Cynthia Doback, Kristina DuBois, Rebecca Dusart, Justin Ezzo, Terryann Gerber, Patricia Hollis, Christine Isbell, Katrina Kahl, Colin Keating, Dana Lambert, Laurie Raschella, Steven Uhl, Jennifer Vacanti, Casey Vanderstouw, Timour Vernyi and Tammy Williams.
