Voters got a chance to meet and shake hands with five of the six Skaneateles School District Board of Education candidates campaigning for two open positions on the school board at Waterman School on Wednesday evening.
Jeremy Dodds, Kathryn Carlson, Valerie Jerabeck, Patricia Lindgren and Pete Nicholson were given a few minutes at the podium to describe their qualifications and campaign platforms. Illyssa Green was absent, but sent a spokesperson in her place. Afterwards attendees had the opportunity for a closer conversation over refreshments in the lobby. Although all the candidates described strong, but varied, levels of service in the educational community, the cornerstone of each campaign was the importance of maintaining the high level of educational standards that Skaneateles Schools are known for.
