Congratulations to the OCM BOCES students who participated in this year's New York State Skills USA competition.
More than 2,000 career and technical education students from across New York State competed in contests from culinary arts and cosmetology to construction and welding including performance and written tests.
One student, Yaroslav Burko, from the OCM BOCES Henry Campus in Syracuse, qualified to compete in the National Skills USA competition. An OCM BOCES Automotive Collision Technology student from the Baldwinsville Central School District, Burko received second place in basic vehicle maintenance. He will attend the National Skills USA conference from June 20 to 25 in Kansas City, MO with OCM BOCES Skills USA Advisor Marilyn Davis.
Another OCM BOCES student from the Baldwinsville Central School District who competed in New York State Skills USA is Shawn Bocyck (related technical math).
