B'ville teacher named promising new professional

The Central New York Association of Family and Consumer Sciences Educators has chosen Christine Rode for the association's Promising New Professional Award. Rode is a family and consumer sciences (FACS) teacher at Baker High School.

The annual award is given to a member of the association who has less than eight years of experience teaching FACS, and it recognizes excellence in the classroom. Rode will receive the award on May 10 at the association's spring banquet.
