The Plank Road Quilt Guild displayed their projects at the Liverpool Public Library during National Quilt Day. The display included many of their completed community service projects, as well as demonstrations on quilting projects in process. Community service projects include preemie caps, pillow cases, memory bags, "teaching dolls" for sick children, quilts and laprobes SUNY Upstate Medical University, Crouse Hospital, the VA hospital, Sunnyside Nursing Home and ElderWood Health Care at Birchwood.
Members described the group as "quilting with a purpose," similar to an "old fashioned quilting bee."
The group currently has 69 members, and meets the second and fourth Wednesday of each month at the Cicero United Methodist Church, 8416 N. Main St. in Cicero. Call Marjorie Day at 676-2479 if you are interested in getting involved.
