ESM assesses progress on preparing all students for college and career

Our school district makes excellent use of data and facilitates real-life experience to focus on the individual learning capabilities of each student in designing educational experiences at ESM in such a way that our graduates are positioned for success. Our goal is 100 percent and our district focus is on continuous improvement toward graduation for every student.

At ESM, our vision is to prepare our graduates to excel in a complex, interconnected, changing world. Preparing our students to meet or exceed the graduation requirements is an important goal; however, there's more than just ensuring that a student receives a diploma.

Today, our responsibility is to graduate students who will succeed in a world that is defined by a rapidly changing, technologically advanced global environment. Real-life experiences with the integration of 21st century skills of critical thinking, communication, collaboration, problem solving and innovation are essential for success in our global society.

At ESM, we are focused on the development of the "whole child" and use multiple assessments to measure student learning, such as demonstration projects and performance. To successfully face rigorous higher education coursework, career challenges and a globally competitive workforce, U.S. schools must align classroom environments with real world environments by integrating 21st century skills. Through our strategic plan, ESM is positioning itself to meet this challenge.
