Liverpool High School simulates damages of drunk driving

Liverpool High School seniors learned about the consequences of drinking and driving during the school's annual Mock DWI presentation.

LHS seniors Courtney Haggett, Loren Metallo, Jennifer Shuron and Brianna Case portrayed accident victims during the presentation, while senior Molly Matott portrayed a witness who calls 911. All are students in LHS's Performing Arts classes.

Representatives from the New York State Police, Onondaga County District Attorney's Office, Clay Town Court, Moyers Corners Fire Department, Onondaga County Medical Examiner's Office, TLC Ambulance Service and NOVA Ambulance Service were on hand to show seniors the reality of what happens as a result of a drunk driving accident, from the arrest and arraignment of the drunk driver to the medical examiner taking a deceased victim away in a body bag.

Jim's Service Center in Liverpool donated the cars used during LHS's Mock DWI presentation.
