Boys learn about local history, sacrifices of B'ville residents

On Saturday May 21, members of Baldwinsville Boy Scout Troop 80 were joined by Bill Goodwin, other military veterans and members of the Baldwinsville American legion to place flags on veteran's graves in Riverview Cemetery in Baldwinsville.

Goodwin, a veteran and Baldwinsville historian, shared his vast knowledge of military history and the history of Baldwinsville with the scouts as they placed more than 400 flags on graves of those who gave their lives in support of our country. Scouts learned about Baldwinsville residents who were involved in all the major military conflicts, and also learned about founding families such as the McHarries and the Baldwins.

Afterward, the veterans treated the scouts to doughnuts.
