On Feb. 7, Hillview Community Church in Baldwinsville suffered the total loss of its fellowship hall under the massive weight of heavy snow accumulation. It resulted in the total destruction of the fellowship building. This was an important loss because the building had been the original church sanctuary when the church was started 50 years ago.
"God has been very good in that the insurance coverage will pay for the majority of the cost of rebuilding the fellowship hall," said Pastor Joe Folckemer. "However, there are several substantial items such as the footers, slab, upgraded boiler etc. that will not be covered. The church has established a recovery fund to assist with these uncovered items."
To help the congregation recover from the misfortune, the Master's Touch Chorale will present a very special benefit concert at 6 p.m. Sunday June 26 at First Baptist Church of Syracuse, 5833 E. Seneca Turnpike, Jamesville. All of the proceeds from the concert will benefit the recovery fund at Hillview Community Church.
The Master's Touch Chorale is a choir of nearly 40 dedicated Christian singers, from some 17 denominations, who are united by their common faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord and by His calling to spread His good news in the ministry of music. The choir has been invited multiple times to Washington DC to perform and has performed in the White House twice. The performance will feature a menu of Christian music ranging from Beethoven to bluegrass.
