J-D volleyball gets past Phoenix, Fulton

On CBA's side, Kelly Bewley (13 assists) and Claire Gollegly (12 assists) split back-line duties, as Ivanka Temnycky and Kara Modliszewski each finished with seven kills. Alexis Koval contributed eight digs. Marcellus featured a powerful front line where Nicole Fletcher (14 kills, eight blocks) and Devin Landers (10 kills, five blocks) took charge.

East Syracuse-Minoa played lat Tuesday, beating Fulton 25-15 in the first set, but losing the next three sets to the Red Raiders. It was 26-24 in the second set, then 25-22 in each of the next two sets.

Unable to get any of the key late points, the Spartans saw Danielle Steigerwald pile up 15 kills, Laura Adams earn 14 kills and Charlotte Visser add 10 kills. Katilyn Shaughnessy fed all of them with 40 assists.

Bishop Grimes fell in four sets to unbeaten Tully and also had a four-set loss to Onondaga Thursday night. Against the Tigers, Taylor Bourdon had eight kills, while Nicole Spiegel earned six aces and Nicole Houck had seven assists.
