Kindergarten registration for the Cazenovia Central School District is scheduled to take place from 9 a.m. until noon, Monday March 28 through Thursday March 31 (no appointment necessary). There will also be a limited number of evening appointments available from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Wednesday March 30; this is by appointment only (first come, first serve basis) for those parents who cannot make it during the regular day time registration hours. Wednesday evening appointments may be made by calling Mrs. Richer in the Burton Street Office at 655-1325. New York State mandated screening will be scheduled during registration.
New entrants must be 5 years old on or before Dec. 1. Parents should bring the child's proof of age (birth certificate or passport) and proof of residency (driver's license, rental agreement, utility bill, etc.) to registration. In the case of a child living with only one parent, a copy of the custody agreement stating which parent has primary physical custody of the child is required at registration.
Certified immunization records to-date will also required at registration.
For pupils whose names appear on the school census, the necessary forms will be mailed out the week of March 1. Parents who have not received forms and have an eligible child are asked to call Mrs. Richer as soon as possible.
Any parent who has a child eligible to attend and is not planning to enter the child in kindergarten for the 2011-12 school year is also asked to call Mrs. Richer.
New protocol for the 2011-12 school year; any student who does not complete the required screening process will not be assigned a classroom teacher before Orientation, on June 8.
