Meeting with Governor Cuomo
The Assembly Republican Conference met last week with the Governor. Our conference was invited to the Governor's mansion for breakfast. This was the first time since I have served in the Assembly that this has happened. We talked about many things but primarily what impressed me was his consideration for us as a group. Though we might not share the same political party or views, he has made many decisions in his budget that I agree with and have advocated for in recent years, not the least of which is to reduce government waste and spending. I was encouraged by this meeting and hope we are embarking on a more professional atmosphere in Albany that includes an open dialogue with rank and file members of the Legislature.
