Library Focus: AARP tax help available at library


The Mystery Readers' Club meets at 10 a.m. Thursday Feb. 10 to discuss "The Body in the Snow Drift," by Katherine Hall Page. New members are always welcome.

The Children of Aging Parents, a monthly gathering for adults learning how to care for their parents, meets at 6 p.m. Thursday Feb. 10 to share tips on ways to make life easier for you and your loved ones.

Card making

Make a real impression on your Valentine with this timely workshop at 7 p.m. Thursday Feb. 10. Registration and a $15 materials fee are required.

Preschool party

Kids from 3 to 5 years old are invited to join us at 10 a.m. Friday Feb. 11 for Valentine crafts, stories and refreshments. Registration is required so sign up at the checkout desk.

Be our Valentine

Kids in third through sixth grades are invited to check out the Valentine's edition of the Second Mondays club at 6 p.m. Monday Feb. 14. We're sure you will love the free pizza, fun, games and activities.

Chasing Lincoln's killer

Books for Breakfast meets at 9 a.m. Tuesday Feb. 15 to discuss "Manhunt," the story of the 12-day search for Lincoln's assassin by James L. Swanson. Refreshments will be served.

Stitching time

The Threaded Needle quilt group meets from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 16. New members are welcome.

Love music?

Bring your love or mourn their loss, but join the group at 7 p.m. Wednesday Feb. 16 for our Open Mike follow up to Valentine's Day with ballads or blues hosted by Merry Mischief. Performer sign-in begins at 6:30 p.m.

Appalachian trail walk

At 10 a.m. Thursday Feb. 17, Baldwinsville resident and retired Fulton Postmaster Steve Swensen will tell about hiking the Appalachian Trail in the spring of 2004. Suggested $1 donation for the library Friends group is requested.
