Arrests made in Denny's assault investigation

The DeWitt Police Department has made three arrests in the early morning Jan. 30 assault that occurred inside Denny's restaurant. An arrest warrant has been issued for a fourth suspect.

Carlton Morman, 18, of 110 Merriman Ave. of Syracuse, was charged with assault in the second degree, criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree, reckless endangerment in the second degree and riot in the second degree. He was arrested Jan 31 and held on $40,000 cash/bond bail. He is scheduled to appear in court Feb. 16.

Jaycee Floyd, 21, of 639 Ballantyne Road in Syracuse, was charged with reckless endangerment in the second degree and riot in the second degree. He was arrested Feb. 4 and held on $1,000 cash/bond bail. He is scheduled to return to court Feb. 8.

Jerome R. Clarke, 24, of 622 W. Brighton Ave in Syracuse, was charged with assault in the first degree, assault in the second degree, criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, reckless endangerment in the second degree and riot in the second degree. He was arrested Feb. 4 and held on $50,000 cash/$100,000 bond bail. He is due to return to court Feb. 10.

An arrest warrant has been issued for another suspect in the case. Ernest L. Hester, 21, is described as being 5'11", 160 pounds and is wanted for assault in the second degree, criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, reckless endangerment in the second degree, and riot in the second degree.

The investigation is ongoing.
