"Being chosen to receive this award is certainly a meaningful honor to me personally," Aris said. "It also represents the fine achievements of the terrific group of student athletes I had the opportunity to work with this past season."
F-M graduate Damien Rhodes played for current varsity football coach Paul Muench in 2000 and 2001, when the team was sectional champions and won the regional state tournament. Rhodes returned to F-M in 2008 as defensive coordinator, and works with the running backs and defensive backs. In 2010, the team won the league championship.
"This award is for local athletes that give back to CNY sports, and stands for character," he said. "For this reason I am deeply humbled to receive this award. It was a privilege to coach the championship-winning team. I am eagerly awaiting the 2011 season."
"The contributions from all three of these coaches are instrumental to the success of our program and the development of our students," Roy said.
