Fayetteville native Kim Falcone Sousa, director of marketing and business development with RDK Engineers in Andover, Mass., was recently made a principal of the company. Sousa is currently the youngest principal and third female principal, after current CFO Laura DePalma and original female principal Audrey LaRosa, DePalma's mother.
Sousa has 16 years of experience in all aspects of marketing, including lead generation and organization, communications, acquisitions, client relations, proposal management, building teaming relationships and presentations for multi-disciplinary teams to strategic planning and coaching.
RDK Engineers, which Sousa first joined in 2007, is an engineering firm specializing in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, tele data, and fire protection engineering services. The company has a staff of more than 190 multi-disciplined engineers and administrative professionals located in Andover, Amherst, and Boston, Mass., as well as Durham and Charlotte, N.C.
A busy mother of two young future businesswomen, Sousa said she believes that involvement in organizations outside of work is very important and has participated in the town of Andover's Housing Board of Trustees and served as a troop leader for the Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts. She also participates actively and manages fundraisers for The Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis Network and is currently a chair for the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of New England's Merrimack Valley Chapter. Being active in these associations also gives her profession fresh visibility in a number of different settings and circles.
Sousa's mother, JoAnne Falcone, is still an active resident of the Fayetteville community and enjoys spending time with Sousa and her family during their frequent visits home to Fayetteville.
