Onondaga County Sheriff's detectives have charged a Radisson man with burglary and attempted rape.
Detectives assigned to the Sheriff's Criminal Investigation Division charged Thomas S. Dyer, 50, of 8654 Breawood Drive, building 10 apartment 1C, with second degree burglary, two counts of first degree attempted rape, unlawful imprisonment and resisting arrest.
Dyer is alleged to have broken into a Radisson home late Saturday night where a woman awoke to find him straddling over her. The victim struggled with Dyer and was able to flee from her home to call for police.
Sheriff's Detectives conducted an investigating throughout the weekend and were able to identify Dyer as an alleged suspect. Dyer was taken into custody Sunday afternoon and formerly charged. Dyer was arraigned Monday in the Town of Lysander Court where the Onondaga County District Attorney has requested bail be set at $250,000 cash or $500,000 bond.
