Caz holds off Clinton, earn 80 points for top spot

Cam Braathen and Matt Staiger took third in the weight throw, heaving it 73 feet 11 3/4 inches between them. Kyle Markowski and Alex Devine were fourth in the 55 hurdles, with Matt Donovan and David Ayer fifth in the 55 sprint.

Billy Bigsby, Harry Penate, Teddy Tormey and Sean Satchwell ran to fifth in the 4x800 in 9:40.99. Braathen and Pat Karmis took sixth in the shot put.

Chittenango managed 20 points for seventh place in the boys MVITA standings. Kenny Galbraith, Jon Roberts, Isaac Czarnecki and Ben Seale combined to take second in the mile relay in 21:18.14.

Galbraith and Roberts also helped Jason Given and Lucas Rogers run to third in the 4x800 in 9:09 flat, while Given and Rogers teamed with Max Smith and John Dullen for fourth (4:07.56) in the 4x400. The Bears also were fifth in the 4x200 in 1:59.93.

The next MVITA relays take place Tuesday night, followed by a brief holiday rest and the John DiiMao Memorial Invitational on Dec. 30.
