Young Life provides fun activities for youths, thanks to community support

Letter to the editor

To the editor:

Friday nights in Cazenovia have gotten a little more interesting for high school students, thanks to the support of so many families, local businesses and community groups.

After the Christmas Walk and Village Tree Lighting festivities were over and the non-profit groups packed up their goods, it was time for dozens of high school kids to let loose and have more fun than they bargained for at “Friday Night Life” hosted by Young Life.

The evening began at The Wendell House and concluded at Burton Street Elementary School with glow-in-the-dark games.

This week was sponsored by St. James Church and their generous support allowed us to buy hundreds of glow sticks for kids to throw around and have fun with.

A special thanks to Cazenovia Central School District for allowing us the use of their facilities.

Many thanks to all the parents and volunteers who came out to provide rides and support for the event. The evening could not have been such a success without you!

We also would like to thank the First Presbyterian Church of Cazenovia for the continued use of the Wendell House — our meeting place for at least the next few weeks.

We would like to thank Caz Sports Bowl for being so generous in allowing us to use all their lanes during their peak business hours. That could not have been possible without the specific support of the Reed family.

Others have also stepped up to sponsor events including the Curtis family, the Brewster Inn and Summit Church. We are also grateful for all those who are helping to make future “Friday Night Life” events possible!
