District continues to reach out to community through various mediums

— Two cross country athletes competed in their state championships. Alec Peinkofer placed seventh in the New York State Public High School Athletic Association Boys’ Cross-Country Championships and 30th in the New York State Federations Boys’ Cross-Country Championships. Rachael Miller placed 84th in the New York State Public High School Athletic Association Girls’ Cross-Country Championships;

Paul Mizer, a technology teacher at Baker High School, was named the 2011-12 Technology Teacher of the Year by the Central New York Technology and Engineering Educators’ Association; and

Joanne Melton, who teaches Latin at Durgee Junior High School and Baker High School, received the Morton E. Spillenger Award from The Classical Association of the Empire State.

District communication

The Baldwinsville Central School District strives to provide accurate and timely information to the entire school district community regarding achievement as well as information on curriculum, programs and district finances. We use a variety of channels to accomplish this. The following are the district’s methods for communicating with parents and other community members:

BEE Informed E-mail News Service - This is an opt-in, free e-mail service that enables members of the school district community to receive e-mails with the latest district news and information. To register for the service, go to the home page of the district’s website and click on the link on the left of the homepage, “B-Informed E-mail News;”

Facebook - Like the district on Facebook! Look for Baldwinsville Central School District, the organization page. This is the district’s official page;

ConnectEd Message System - The district uses this system primarily for school closings, alerts and notifications to parents and staff members. This message system is not available to the community at large;

Parent Portal - The parent portal enables parents and legal guardians to review information regarding their children, such as attendance, report card grades and progress reports; and
