The service is at 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, at Immaculate Conception Church, 400 Salt Springs St., Fayetteville. The combined choir of 125 voices offers carols of the season, while clergy of various denominations read verses that foretell the coming of Christmas.
Lessons and Carols is a non-denominational, ecumenical, public event. No church membership or attendance is required.Admission is free. The goal of the event is to create a peaceful and intentional way of anticipating Christmas, in contrast to the often hectic pace around us. Event organizers also collect canned food and free will donations to help prepare the local food pantry for the holiday season.
