— If you’re not off on vacation, doing those last minute school preparation chores or enjoying our great State Fair, it’s prime time to enjoy our cool and (momentarily) quiet library.

Swapping files

Learn how to make your information more portable and useful by discovering how to shift and store your files at 1:30 p.m. Aug. 31.

Jobseekers’ Club

Kids are heading back to school and off to college. Take some time to improve your job prospects by working with other jobseekers and one of our librarians to discover new leads, approaches and techniques at 1 p.m. Sept. 1 and every Thursday following.

Labor Day closing

The library will be closed Sept. 4 and 5 for the Labor Day celebration.

Writers’ Group

Join other local writers for support and a chance to share progress at 7 p.m. on alternate Tuesdays, Sept. 6 and 20.

Mental Illness Support Group

Those living with mental illness in themselves or family members gather to support each other and exchange survival tips once a week in the Story Room; call 635-5631 for times.

Pulling Threads

Join our dedicated groups and bookend your month with pins, needles and more. Pulling Threads meets from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 7 and 21 to sew up a storm. Not able to make a morning group? Join In Stitches at 7 p.m. Sept. 28.

Email basics

Like it or loathe it, it’s hard to function in the current world without computer access and skills and it all starts with email. Sign up for our Email Basics class held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 7 and get started on your technology adventure. Registration is required.

Mystery Readers’ Club

Discover Tony Hillerman’s popular and controversial mystery series based on the exploits of two Navajo policemen at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 8 as the group discusses “Talking God.” New members are always welcome.
