Community members support Ronald McDonald House

Charity receives overwhelming support during third annual Christmas in July

— Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central New York received more than $8,500 in donations through its recent Christmas in July event.

Jennifer Van Waldick, of Baldwinsville, and a representative of J.R. Clancy dropped off items at the CNY Ronald McDonald House during Christmas in July.

During the event, the organization encouraged the community to donate items off of its wish list to support the families of seriously ill children staying at the House. Wish list items included coffee, fruit drink mixes, bread, household items and gift cards.

More than 30 individuals, families, organizations and businesses including JGB Enterprises Inc., J.R. Clancy, Adult Career Continuing Education Services – New York State Education department, O’Brien & Gere and Time Warner Cable dropped off wish list items at the CNY Ronald McDonald House on Thursday, July 28 and Friday, July 29. In addition, McDonald’s in Hamilton, Clay, Liverpool and Western Lights donated $3,000.

“We are grateful for the overwhelming support we received from the community,” said Beth Trunfio, executive director of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central New York. “Their generous contributions will help us keep even more families together at the CNY Ronald McDonald House.”
