Support Shepard for county legislator

— I urgently suggest that you join with me, the Van Buren Republican Committee and the County Republican Convention and cast your vote on Sept. 13 for Derek Shepard to be the candidate for County Legislator.

Derek was chosen to be that candidate by the above committees and for very good reasons. He has since been challenged on the Republican line by the current legislator. The challenger had secured the endorsement of the Conservative committee, and Derek is challenging that line. Now it is up to you the voters to determine who will best represent us.

Following some of the actions of the current legislator, it is of utmost importance to all of us in the 13th District to have a new face representing us. Derek is a bright, intuitive young man who will serve us well. He is currently a member of the Van Buren Town Board and has been an asset and advocate for we, the people. He has previously been director of two large assisted living facilities in the area and advanced both far beyond their expectations. He is currently working toward his law degree, with a close to perfect GPA. Derek has the energy, the insight, and desire to represent us in the County Legislature, and do it well.

Hours of voting on Sept. 13th are noon to 9 p.m. You will not regret your trip to the polls to cast a vote for Derek Shepard.

Liz McCarthy-Bowers is the former supervisor of the town of Van Buren.
