County, town, schools are working with InBev

— I read a recent article in Messenger from Andy Reeves regarding “Working Together for InBev Pilot” that raised some concerns of misinformation. The article makes an assumption that since December 2010 the Baldwinsville School District, the Town of Lysander and Onondaga County have not been working together to reach a payment in lieu of taxes with AB InBev company.

While the tax rate may be different for each municipality, all parties are working together to reach an agreement that all parties can live with for several years. I, personally have had discussions with the Lysander Supervisor Barry Bullis, Deputy County Executive William Fisher, and school Superintendent Jeanne Dangle on several occasions. Each has given me an update on their position and none have expressed any concern that the other municipalities are not participating. I can only assume that the writer of this article was trying to use misinformation for political reasons.

Rich Lesniak is the Onondaga County Legislator for the first district representing the town of Lysander and a portion of the town of Clay.
