April is nearly over, but the excitement has just begun.
Thursday April 28 is our annual budget/trustee vote and the beginning of our semiannual book and media sale. Residents of the Baldwinsville School District, 18 and over, are invited to vote on the library's annual budget from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. in the library's community room. You can learn more about the proposed budget and last year's activities by picking up a report at the library or check the details at bville.lib.ny.us/Budget 2011-2012.pdf. This year, we also have a five-way contest for the seat vacated by Nelson Butler's retirement. Discover their qualifications at bville.lib.ny.us/Trustee Candidate Statements.pdf.
Thursday also marks the beginning of our spring bake and book sale. Drop in early to harvest the best treats and tomes.
Our long running Wired Wednesday tech training series is back up to speed with more instructors, times and classes than ever - all free to library users. Beginners topics are offered Wednesdays and intermediate to advanced classes are on Fridays. All classes are at 1:30 p.m. and free, but registration is required. Call 635-5631 or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org to sign up for the following options: Ebooks! Wednesday April 27; and Learning Express Online Friday April 29.
In Stitches closes out the month at 7 p.m. Wednesday April 27 with a sewing circle for all kinds of handwork from knitting and embroidery to ordinary mending.
Support Group continues
The Mental Illness Support group meets at 1 p.m. every Saturday at the library. This month's final meeting will be on April 30.
The book sale ends on a bargain note - The final two days, May 1 and 2, will feature books, video and music at $3 a bag. Come help us clear the sale and stock up for inexpensive vacation fun.
