B'ville team wins engineering contest

Students in the Advanced Placement C Physics course at Baker High School won first place in the 2011 GHD Student Engineering Contest held at Liverpool High School March 26. The team, advised by teacher John Lerner, consisted of Matthew Keim, Alexander Malecki, Ethan Pacheck, Michael St. John, Aaron Stolicker and Shaun Thompson.

Teams were required to design a portable water filtration system that could filter out one liter of clean water from five liters of water contaminated with potting soil and green dye. The Baldwinsville team had the highest overall competition score for their design.
