Baldwinsville art teacher selected as summer scholar

Jessica Voigt, an art teacher at Baker High School, was selected as a National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) Summer Scholar from a national pool of applicants. Voigt will attend "Mesoamerican Cultures and their Histories: Spotlight on Oaxaca," a four-week institute in Oaxaca, Mexico, supported by the NEH with a stipend of $3,300 to cover her expenses.

Voigt will study archaeology, ethno history, art history and various forms of traditional Oaxacan art while in Mexico. She will develop unique curricular materials to integrate into her instruction at the high school.
