Flush with momentum after its come-from-behind, 3-2 win over Baldwinsville on Oct. 1, the Liverpool girls soccer team got a bit of rest before resuming its winning form. The Warriors, no. 4 in the latest state Class AA rankings, visited Central Square Thursday night and tore through the first half of a 6-0 victory over the Red Hawks. It was 5-0 by the time they reached halftime. Kim Murphy and Emma Geyer each scored twice, with Murphy adding an assist. Julia Heberger, whose two goals keyed the comeback against B’ville, had one goal and one assist, as did Morgan Wright. Ore Akinpelu and Kayla Bills earned assists, too. Liverpool gave itself a tough non-league game against Whitesboro on Saturday, but still had more than enough to beat that other group of Warriors 3-0. Murphy stepped up for a pair of goals, with Nikki Carfi also scoring and earning an assist on one of Murphy’s scoring plays. Heberger added an assist. Liverpool took 14 shots to Whitesboro’s five. Cicero-North Syracuse, meanwhile, fought to a 0-0 draw with Fayetteville-Manlius last Tuesday night at the Hornets’ new turf field. The Northstars were forced into a defensive mode for much of the game, allowing twice as many shots as it took. Still, goalie Miranda Tanner turned them all away, recording 12 saves to preserve the shutout. CNS broke out on Thursday against the combined Syracuse city squad, winning 8-0 as it scored four times in each half of play. Hannah Haven earned her first varsity hat trick, scoring three times and adding an assist. Reid Garner found the net twice, while Stephanie Liberati, Lauren DeOrdio and Erika Falinski also converted. Jill Goettel, Ellen Traub, Aly Falinski, Mary Kate Ordway, Marissa Puma and Marissa Rio each got credit for assists.
