Shaking off the back-to-back defeats to Cicero-North Syracuse and Skaneateles the week before, the Cazenovia girls volleyball team quickly rose above the .500 mark again.
The Lakers narrowly missed a sweep in last Tuesday’s match against Solvay, but still beat the Bearcats in four games.
Each of the first two games was Cazenovia romps, 25-13 and 25-15. Two points from finishing it off in the third game, the Lakers could not quite do it, falling 26-24, but got past Solvay 25-21 in the fourth game.
Amber Robinson put together 11 assists, five kills, three aces and nine digs. Madison Gabor supplied 21 digs as she, along with Katelyn Puukila, earned six kills apiece. Dana Kiselica had five kills and six digs, with Dominique Lyons contributing six assists.
On Thursday night, Cazenovia went to Syracuse and swept Institute of Technology Central 25-9,2 5-11, 25-17 for two wins in a row.
As Robinson mixed in eight assists, six digs and four kills, Gabor got six kills, three aces and three digs. Kiselica had five aces and four digs, with Puukila and Emily Stoker putting up three kills apiece. Staci Valik threw in four assists, three aces and three digs.
