If there was any possible doubt about the Liverpool boys track and field team’s credentials, it evaporated by the time it was done taking care of West Genesee 92-44 Wednesday afternoon on its new home track. Facing a Wildcat squad full of talent (especially in distance running), the Warriors simply turned to its star junior, Zavon Watkins, who pulled off three different wins. Watkins cruised through 800 meters in 2:04 flat and roared to a winning time of 4:47.3 in the mile. He even prevailed in the high jump, clearing 6 feet. Elsewhere on the track, Keewan Rondinello tore to first place in the 400-meter hurdles in 59.2 seconds as Kameron Arnold ran the 400-meter dash in 54 seconds flat. Joe Spernyak needed 16.3 seconds to prevail in the 110 high hurdles. Liverpool flourished in field events, too. Nick Leedom tossed the shot put 40 feet 4 inches, with Kyle Dalton throwing the discus 117 feet 10 inches. Steve Fiorello had a top long jump of 18 feet 7 inches.
