Hillview Community Church celebrated its 10th year of PB&J Sunday Feb. 27 collecting 212 jars of peanut butter and jelly. The church had been collecting donations of peanut butter and jelly for the entire month of February to benefit local food pantries. PB&J Day began 10 years ago as an offshoot of Hillview’s regular collection of food for the pantry. Food pantries often have a short supply of non-perishable proteins such as tuna, peanut butter and even canned potted meat. This was the parish’s way to focus on one area of need and have a little fun at the same time. At the 10 a.m. worship service Feb. 27, everyone was encouraged to bring in their donations, dress in purple and brown and enjoy some peanut butter and jelly-based treats at the coffee hour after worship. Sunday worship begins at 10 a.m. at Hillview Community Church, located on O’Brien Road in Baldwinsville. For more information, call 638-0357 or visit hillviewcbc.org.
