Fourteen restaurants will offer up their best creations to be judged by a panel of local celebrity judges and event attendees at the 2011 Taste of Baldwinsville. The event, which generates about half the funds needed to support the Baldwinsville Volunteer Center’s programs, will be held from 7 to 11 p.m. March 5 at the CNY Family Sports Centre on Jones Road. The restaurants participating in the event are: Edible Arrangements, Fresh Mex Mexican Grill, Hometown Pizzeria, Jreck Subs, Pizza Man, Pucello’s, Ramona’s Dressing, Sal’s New York Pizzeria, Sammy Malone’s, Sportside 31, Tabatha’s Family Tree, Tops Market, Twin Trees and Wegmans. In addition to the food tasting, the event will feature the music of Fool’s Brew. John Thayer is a local musician who offers up an eclectic song list to please a wide-ranging audience. The Baldwinsville Volunteer Center is excited to welcome John back for a second time at the Taste of Baldwinsville event. The main attraction of the event will be the live and silent auction of many great items donated by local businesses, neighborhoods, school teachers, individuals and organizations. The committee has already received more than 100 donations and is accepting additional items every day. “We’ve got a lot of new and exciting donations this year that are sure to create very active bidding during the auction this year,” said committee chair, Chris Monica. The event has received sponsorship from many generous businesses including: Syracuse Home Health & Rehab Center, WSEN, Avalon Copy Centers, Empower Federal Credit Union, Holmes, King, Kallquist & Associates, Key Bank, Evans Chevrolet, Hudson & Mowins, Tassone’s Wine Garden, University Hill Gastroenterology Associates, and several others. Tickets for the 2011 Taste of Baldwinsville are available for patrons over the age of 21 for $30 per person. Purchasing tickets in advance affords purchasers to a discount of $5 off a second ticket.
