Led again by Anthony Carno and Connor Harrington, the Christian Brothers Academy boys bowling team continued its OHSL title quest. The Brothers knocked off Fulton 4-0 last Wednesday at Strike-N-Spare Lanes as Carno posted a three-game total of 652, with a 236 high game. Harrington was consistent in his 639 series, not posting a game higher than 218. A day later, the Brothers turned its attention to Fowler and beat the Falcons 4-0 behind a big day from Harrington, who posted a 723 series with a 268 high game. Carno added a 623 set. Before this, East Syracuse-Minoa handled Fowler 4-0 as Joe Erardi got a season-best 281 game during his 625 set. D.J. MacCombie’s 620 series included a 268 game. ESM’s girls team beat Fowler 4-0 behind Alyssa Boccardo’s 629 series and 238 high game, as Alysha Buck added a 486 set. The Spartans maintained that fast pace Thursday with twin 4-0 sweeps of Solvay, as Boccardo remained steady with a 608 series and 224 high game. Christina Episcopo had a 514 set. In the boys match, MacCombie stood out with a 711 series and 267 high game as Erardi also shot a 267 during his 668 set. John Monaghan threw in a 656 series. Fayetteville-Manlius engaged in a great battle with Utica Proctor, losing a 2-1 decision despite Nick Agrippino’s 691 series and 268 high game. Rick Meyers had a three-game total of 629. But the Hornets shut out West Genesee 3-0 on Friday as Frank Watson used a 243 game to move his way to a 595 total and Agrippino put up a 576 series. F-M’s girls beat the Wildcats 2-1 as Tricia Miller earned a three-game total of 599. Bishop Grimes had a 4-0 defeat to Cortland despite Mike Ostaszewski’s 231 game and 591 series, then lost to Fulton 4-0.
