New Dem chair Skaneateles

The Skaneateles Democratic Committee has elected Mary Sennett to serve as its new Chair. Sennett, a math teacher at the Onondaga Nation School, is a 20-year resident of Skaneateles and serves as Vice Chair of the Town's Zoning Board of Appeals and had been the Vice Chair of the Skaneateles Democratic Committee. She is married to Robert Leiss and lives on Goodspeed Place.

Mary said, "While being involved with the Skaneateles Democrats, I've gotten to know many wonderful, committed residents. As the new chairperson I hope to do more outreach and get more of the community involved with the Democratic Party. "

She succeeds Jim Williams as Committee Chair. Mr. Williams served two consecutive 2-year terms as Chair, and under the by-laws of the Committee, could not seek a third term.

"We are thrilled that Mary has agreed to take on the leadership of the Democratic Party in Skaneateles. Mary is well-known, well-respected, well-liked and is very knowledgeable about the issues facing our community."

Williams will continue to serve on the committee as Vice Chair. Susan Byrne was re-elected to serve as Secretary and Keith MacBain was re-elected to serve as Treasurer.
