Time to put your September songs on speed dial. Two more days and we are into October. But before we move on there's still time to check out our new materials or brush up on your Web Basics at Wired Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. Sept. 29.

Job club

Looking for work is a full time and sometimes frustrating proposition, but your library is here for you with programs and support services. Compare notes and network with other job seekers at 10 a.m. every other Friday at the library. These meetings alternate with our established Jobseekers Lifeline workshops. So if you're looking for employment the library is the place to be Friday mornings.

Mental Illness support group

Need help coping with the stresses and strains of dealing with mental illness or disability? Join the support group organized by Juliana Pata meeting at the library on alternate Saturdays. This month's meetings are at 1 p.m. Oct. 2, 16 and 30.

Open Writers' group

Whether you are writing short articles or the great American novel, it's always great to have a sounding board and the library is the place to find one. Local writers support each other and share their progress at 7 p.m. alternate Tuesdays Oct. 5 and 19.

Wired Wednesdays

There's a great lineup of classes this month to help you improve your computer skills, increase your general skills and use the power of the net to stretch your dollar and upgrade your image. Planning a garage sale or a community benefit? Publicity helps, so sign up for the month's first session at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday Oct. 6 to learn how to Make Posters with Word. Got a big test coming up? Wondering what job might suit you best? At 1:30 p.m. Wednesday Oct. 13, we'll show you a great tool for test prep and career exploration. So sign up to train yourself with Learning Express. The Yellow Pages let our fingers do the walking, but the Internet lets you take it even farther.
