Artist/athlete exhibits lifetime of art at New Woodstock library

The "100 Years of Syracuse Football" assemblage is permanently installed in the Ernie Davis Room in the Carrier Dome at Syracuse University.

But sports aren't the only source of Ridlon's commission work. The Walt Disney Corporation commissioned the artist in 1989 to create a large-format assemblage commemorating the 35th anniversary of Disneyland in Anaheim, California. The piece stood at the entrance to the theme park for a year and now graces the entrance to the Disneyland Hotel in Anaheim. Posters of the Disney commission will be included in Ridlon's studio exhibition.

The reception for Ridlon on September 10 will be held simultaneously at the New Woodstock Free Library on Route 13 and Ridlon's studio on Railroad Street. The reception will feature works on display and for sale at both locations. The exhibit will open at both locations at 5 p.m. Refreshments will be served and artworks purchased through 9 p.m. Through Oct. 8, when the show ends, the collection at the library will be open for viewing during all regular library hours. Information about viewing the collection at Ridlon's studio may be obtained by calling 662-3134.
