Go behind the scenes of movies with chemistry

Want to make glow in the dark slime or liquid nitrogen ice cream? A free celebration of the chemistry behind the scenes of movies and TV shows with hands on activities and demonstrations will be held Oct. 23 from 10:23 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. at East Syracuse Minoa Central High School.

The free event for all ages will celebrate National Chemistry Week and Mole Day. Come dressed as your favorite Harry Potter character.

The event is presented by the Syracuse Local Section of the American Chemical Society; the High School Chemistry Clubs at ESM, JD, and F-M; Student Affiliates at Utica College and Syracuse University; the Chemistry Club at Onondaga Community College; the Alchemists of SUNY-ESF; and the General Chemistry Class of SUNY-ESF.
