Globetrotter Dr. Barb Connor, of Skaneateles, will take a path less traveled as she heads down under to New Zealand for a six month stint at Timaru Hospital.
Connor is accustomed to heading off to Africa and Central America through her connections with Duk Lost Boys Clinic in Duk County, South Sudan and Mission of Miracles in El Salvador.
You can aid her mission just by coming to her bon voyage party at the zoo this weekend, from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Oct.17 at the Rosamund Gifford Zoo, Syracuse. There will be food and drinks and music by Jeffrey Scott Connor and Friends, plus meet and greet special guests, international speaker and author of "When God Grew Tired of Us," John Dau and also, Siri the elephant.
Siri's appearance is sponsored by Laura's List. This is Laura Ponticello's recommended reads - a book list.
The cost of the event is $25 with $10 of this fee going directly to the Zoo's Elephant Barn Building Fund (tax deductable). Couples pay $40.
