State no. 1-ranked girls soccer Bees edge Liverpool again

Two nights before going to Liverpool, the Bees got a serious challenge when it hosted Fayetteville-Manlius - but an early offensive surge proved enough for a 2-0 victory over the Hornets.

Before F-M's defense could settle down, B'ville had converted twice. Jackie Firenze and Claire Monnat both put shots past Hornets goalie Nina Quigley as Emma Firenze got credit for the assist.

From that point forward, Quigley stopped everything else and finished with 10 saves, keeping the game tight. And the fast, aggressive F-M front line made all sorts of attacks, but could not get anything past Lynch or Maggie Monnat as they combined for 12 saves.

On that same night, Liverpool tuned up for B'ville with a 10-0 rout of Corcoran, getting eight of those goals in the first half alone.

Eight different players got goals before it was done. Morgan Kline and Kayla Szczesniak each found the net twice as Andrea Flood earned a goal and two assists. Corinne Lawler, Julia Heberger, Courtney Szczesniak, Alexis Kline and Erika Napolitano also put in goals, with Nikki Carfi and Chelsea Bowers joining Lawler and Szczesniak in the assist column.
