Gazella's off-season triathlon training program will be led by Gazella co-owner and USA Triathlon Coach Reem Jishi. Consider attending the information on Tuesday, Oct. 5 at 7 p.m. at Gazella (3986 Jordan Road) to learn more about the program, here's an overview:
*The program runs from Nov. 1 through April 30. The goal o is to provide you with the off season training needed to keep you fit and improve your performance in triathlons next season. The program is progressive - each month will build upon the next and have a different focus. The cost is $75 per month ($50 per month for students) and includes a training plan and two coached workouts per week. You may pay in lump sum or month to month if you prefer.
*The two group training sessions are Spinning and Strength Training. For Spinning, you have two options - Wednesdays at 9:15 a.m. or Tuesdays at 6 a.m. The Wednesday session is for the tri training group only. The Tuesday session is open to anyone who wants to participate. For strength training, you also have two options - Friday at 6:15 a.m. and Saturday at 9:15 a.m. Both of these sessions are for the tri training group only.
*Once you register, Reem will work with each of you on an individual basis to develop a training plan - together you will look at the amount of time you have available (want) to train, your preferred days of week/time of day, the days you plan to swim, other activities you want to fit into your schedule and your race goals for next season.
* In order to supplement the group training sessions, you might want to take some additional classes at Gazella. You can do so for just $20 per class per month. Depending on your schedule, and your other life commitments, some classes that will work well are additional Spinning classes, Yoga, TRX (core or regular), Body Tone and Core Strength.
