The Cazenovia College Athletics Department held its end of the year sports banquet Monday evening on May 3 to honor the top student-athletes of the 2009-10 year -- and Baldiwnsville graduate Gary Reisman Jr. figured prominently in the whole matter.
Reisman Jr. was given the top Male Athlete of the Year award. Reisman, a senior was an all-conference selection in two sports and participated in a third. He was the team MVP and captain on the men's cross country team in the fall and a top defender and four-year captain on the men's lacrosse team, earning second team all-conference in each sport.
In lacrosse, Reisman is second on Cazenovia's list of all time career ground balls (192) and caused turnovers (25). Throughout his lacrosse career, he played both long-stick midfield and close-pole defense.
Amid all this, Reisman was also a member of the men's swimming and diving team, contributing in the freestyle events.
In addition to his accomplishments on the field, Reisman has also been recognized by receiving Academic Scholar Award for his achievements within his dual major of Criminal Justice & Homeland Security obtaining a 4.0 grade point average for the spring semester. Reisman has been on the college Deans' list, three out of his four years at the school.
