The 5th Annual North Syracuse Family Festival is just around the corner on Saturday, May 29th from 11 am to 6 pm at Lonergan Park, Route 11, North Syracuse.
Free musical entertainment includes Fritz's Polka Band, the Skaneateles Band and Eddie Fagan.
Memorial Day observance
Opening ceremony includes a Flag ceremony by the 174th VFW in recognition of the Memorial Day holiday.
Crafters and demonstrations
Free parking with shuttles from the North Syracuse Jr. High School will be available, along with free demonstrations will be by the Civil War actors, the Syracuse Corvette Club, NAVAC, the North Syracuse Volunteer Fire Department, a companion dog and the Irish Step Dancers.
Children's activities include a caricature artist, inflatable bounce house, a slide and a maze, the Teddy Bear Parade, face painters, a clown with balloon animals, safe child ID program, hair wrapping, local mascots and child car seat fitting by the North Syracuse Police.
Dunk tank features familiar faces
Look for the dunk tank with local notables including Salina Supervisor Mark Nicotra, North Syracuse Police Chief Tom Connelly, Department of Public Works' Gary Wilmer, Village Trustee Gary Butterfield, Village Trustee Fred Fergerson and well-known resident Bill Fergerson.
Choose from Bob Barker hot dogs, ice cream, Tim Horton's coffee and donuts, cotton candy, lemonade, fried dough, Papa John's Pizza, Bella Domani Barbeque, Limp Lizard Chicken, and much more for your lunch, dinner and afternoon snacks.
Twenty select crafters will have jewelry, rice paper art, decorative arts, children's furniture, charitable chances, candles, English lace, clothing and accessories (totes, belts, purses and mittens), martial arts, wood and dried flowers, sweet treats, all kinds of crafts and even an opportunity to go mining.
Win prizes of gas cards, craft items, Welch's Journey necklace and much more by participating in the raffles.
