Spring Gala raises $10K for NAMOW

Also at the Friday night gala was Cicero Town Councilor Jim Corl, a five-year member of the NAMOW Board of Directors. Corl said he was glad to be able to attend this year's gala as his son had his first little league game on the date of the event last year.

"The best part about Meals on Wheels is that visiting the seniors becomes a highlight of their day, something they look forward to," Corl said. "I hope this event just keeps growing and growing."

Like Browning and Corl, Salina Town Supervisor Mark Nicotra has been a participant in Mayors for Meals, an annual event held in March.

Nicotra, who also attended the gala, said the night represents "such a great program."
