Tai Chi is a Chinese martial art that is primarily practiced for its health benefits including a means for dealing with tension and stress. Tai Chi is considered a "soft" style martial arts, though regular practice provides for an excellent low cardio, toning workout. Tai Chi emphasizes complete relaxation and is essentially taught as a form of meditation in motion. The mind becomes quiet as the body moves to rejuvenate and strengthen itself. Soft, slow, flowing and gentle movements build on the development of balance, coordination and strong energy flow. This creates a healthful and rewarding treat to daily living.
