Only recently has the Cicero Police Department Internet Safety/The Parents' Component, been fully implemented.
Snell said the department worked with members of the National Center of Missing and Exploited Children.
Presentations on the new policy will be given to area organizations such as the Rotary Club, parent-teacher organizations, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts.
To have a presentation done at other community organizations and children's programs, call 699-3677, ext. 11.
Making policies like this one a reality, is one of the qualities the council has contributed to the department's community relationship, according to Snell.
Because the council is a volunteer group, Snell said the police department is able "to do more with less." With departmental funding always being an issue in any township, Snell said the council's volunteer dedication continues to "benefit the town of Cicero residents."
"Receiving feedback from the community has been the best benefit," Snell said.
