On March 17 at about 8:18 p.m., members of the Syracuse Police Department Crime Reduction Team responded to a shots fired complaint in the area of South Ave. at Rockland Ave.
Upon arrival, a bystander directed police towards a bicyclist in the 1200 block of W. Colvin St. Officers approached the bicyclist who was later identified as 25 year old Danny Stroman Jr. of 211 May Ave. in Syracuse.
Stroman attempted to evade police, but he was stopped and the investigation revealed he was in possession of a loaded .38 caliber handgun.
Stroman was charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree, criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, and resisting arrest. Stroman was lodged in the Justice Center and will be arraigned in City Court in the morning
