Elections were held across Madison County March 16. In the village of Chittenango, John Button ran unopposed for Village Justice, taking in 100 percent of the votes. The two open positions for Village Trustee went to Alan Laube, with 50.510 percent of the votes, and Wayne Horning, with the remaining 49.490 percent.
Edward A. Pokony was elected Canastota Village Justice with 351 votes, while Republican incumbent with 10 years under his belt,Scott Rapasadi and Open Forum candidate Margaret Peters were elected for the two Village Trustee seats. Chuck Sweeney came up short with 247 votes, and newcomer Jeffrey Aumell, with 198 votes.
The Village of Earlville Trustee positions went to Mark A. Doeberl, with 34.571 percent, and William M. Excell with 42.286 percent of the votes. Michael Kicinski made up the remaining 80 votes.
In the Village of Sylvan Beach, Janice Krueger was elected to her first term as Trustee with 131 votes, and Joe Clements will serve his second term as Trustee with 174 votes. William Shaunessy was not re-elected, bringing up the remaining 109 votes.
