One seat is open on the Baldwinsville Library Board of Trustees.
This April, voters will have the opportunity to cast their ballot for the five-year term for the seat of Susan Downey. Residents also have the opportunity to run for the seat.
The Library Board of Trustees meets regularly once a month and is responsible for policy and general supervision of library finances. Trustee candidates must also be U.S. citizens and 18 years of age or older and have been Baldwinsville School District residents for at least 30 days.
Candidates interested in running for the trustee position must file petitions with the signatures of 25 qualified people by 4 p.m. Monday March 29 with the school district clerk at the district office, 29 E. Oneida St. in the village. Petition forms and instructions are available at the library and petitions may be signed by anyone who is 18 years of age or older and has resided in the Baldwinsville School District for 30 days or more.
Current board members are Barbara Aitken, president; Nelson Butler, vice-president; Donna Arseneau, Susan Downey, Bruce King, Jacqueline Olmsted and Robert Manning.
The Baldwinsville Public Library's 2010-11 budget is currently under study by the board of trustees and details will be available in an upcoming edition of the Baldwinsville Messenger.
The Baldwinsville Public Library will hold its annual budget vote and trustee election from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday April 29 in the library at 33 East Genesee Street. Printed copies of the budget will be available at area banks, village and town offices, and in the library during the week prior to the budget vote.
