Onondaga County Sheriff Kevin E. Walsh reports that a recent Fugitive of the Week was captured today.
Corey Redmond (21), resident of the Onondaga Nation, was taken into custody at approximately 10:45 a.m. Thursday June 24 by members of the New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force.
The Task Force includes officers from the Onondaga County Sheriff's Warrants Unit, US Marshall's Service and New York State Police Warrants Squad.
Officers in the Task Force developed information after a lengthy investigation that Redmond was possibly on the Oneida Nation Territory. He was located at a residence in Madison County on the Oneida Nation Territory and taken into custody without incident. The Oneida Nation Police assisted in his capture as well.
Redmond was currently being sought based on warrants issued for Robbery 1st, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd, Criminal Mischief 4th, Menacing 2nd, Reckless Endangerment 1st, and Assault 3rd. These charges stemmed from several incidents occurring on the Onondaga Nation.
He has been a fugitive since March of 2010.
Police are still looking for a co-defendant, Thomas Lowe. A monetary reward is being offered to anyone that provides information leading to the arrest of Lowe.
